Centering Students in Systems:

A School-Based Approach to Supporting System-Involved Youth

  1. Understand how youth become embedded in overlapping systems.
  2. Recognize the role of school in stabilizing system-involved youth
  3. Learn effective strategies for coordinating care between agencies
  4. Understand how to create youth- and family-centered interventions and plans

Presented By

Sasha Freed, M.Ed, LCSW

Bio

Sasha is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a strong background in supporting at-risk youth, children with behavioral challenges, and survivors of trauma. She has worked in schools, homes, outpatient clinics, and domestic violence shelters — always with a focus on providing compassionate, trauma-informed care. Sasha is especially passionate about helping children and teens navigate big emotions, rebuild trust, and develop real-life coping skills.

She holds master’s degrees in Social Work and Special Education from the University of Utah. Outside of work, Sasha enjoys family time with her spouse and young child, traveling, and trying new restaurants.

This CEU will be conducted using the ZOOM online platform, attendance for current UTAHSWA members is free. 

There is a $5 registration fee for non-members of the UTAHSWA payable via Stripe or Venmo
