Learning Objectives
1. Explain how AI tools work in plain language and identify where they’re showing up across social work settings, including in workflows, in the lives of the people we serve, and in the systems that define and fund our work.
2. Evaluate AI tools using a set of questions designed to remain useful regardless of which specific products exist.
3. Recognize how AI-generated output can bypass the professional development process and apply strategies for protecting professional judgment.

Bio
Megan Cornish, LICSW, is a licensed social worker who works with mental health technology companies as a strategist and writer. She advises startups building AI tools, therapy platforms, and software for the helping professions — bringing a social worker’s perspective into rooms where product and growth decisions are made without one. Her writing on the business side of mental health has been recognized by Psychotherapy Networker, and she has a following of over 50,000 mental health professionals on LinkedIn. She lives in Richmond, Virginia.
