Marta “Teresa” Lopez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and currently serves the University of Utah Behavioral Health Integration Team as the Program Manager.  She has been working with the Huntsman Mental Health Institute in a variety of clinical roles for over ten years. She holds specialty certifications as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (University of Utah), a Certified Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Counselor (USARA), EMDR, and is a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional (CCFP).

Teresa identifies as a trauma-informed, multicultural empowerment therapist. Her expertise includes childhood psychopathology & autism, complex trauma, substance abuse, women’s health, grief & loss, and mindfulness.

Teresa has been working in leadership as the Program Manager for the Behavioral Health Integration Team since 2019, and is passionate about elevating evidence-based integration programming to create systemic change in healthcare.

Outside of work, Teresa is a mother of two children, a 9 year-old son and an 11 year-old daughter who is on the Autism Spectrum.  Her free-time is usually spent by advocating for or teaching her daughter, meditating, doing yoga, researching, making crafts, spending time outdoors, or anything involving a challenge or an adventure.  She is also a certified fitness trainer, a Reiki Master, and is always working on learning a new skill!
