The Utah Social Work Association is holding our first Half-Day Seminar of 2023. We’re excited to welcome Dr. Doty-Yells back again to provide a high quality educational opportunity.  We will have in-person options as well as a virtual attendance option. See details below.

 


Objectives

1. Describe the differences between the NASW Code of Ethics and the codes for ACA, AAMFT, ACA and APA

2. Identify the 2021 changes to the NASW Code of Ethics

3. Plan how you will apply the ethics updates in your practice

 


Speaker

 

 

Dr. Kris Doty-Yells

Dr. Kris Doty-Yells is a graduate of Utah Valley University, with a degree in Behavioral Science. She earned a Master of Social Work degree from Brigham Young University and a Ph.D. in social work from the University of Utah.

Kris is a licensed clinical social worker with a specialty in crisis intervention and trauma. She has worked as a crisis worker in a hospital emergency room, as a therapist in a residential treatment center, and as a disaster mental health worker with the American Red Cross.

Upon moving to Texarkana, Texas in 2017, Kris worked as a trauma therapist with Genesis PrimeCare until taking on the task of developing a new social work program at Texas A&M University-Texarkana. Having successfully launched the MSW program, Kris returned to clinical practice at Genesis PrimeCare.

She is trained in EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and is an Internationally Credentialed Sandtray Therapist (ICST).

Kris is madly in love with her husband David, and together they have a blended family of 7 children and 13 grandchildren.

Continuing Education Credit

For those that have registered in-person and virtually, this event will offer 4.0 hours of ETHICS CE credit. This presentation schedule has been approved for CEU credit by the Utah Social Work Association Executive Board.
