BIO:

Susanne Mitchell received her master’s degree in social work at the University of Utah and is currently the Associate Division Director at the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office – Division of Victim Support Services overseeing the award-winning Children’s Justice Center and Forensic Services programs. Her early career involved a variety of service settings to include: rape crisis, child abuse crisis response, Juvenile Detention, Juvenile Court, Youth Services, and both inpatient and outpatient treatment for youth and adults. She assisted several research projects with the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development to elevate best practices involving forensic interviewing methods with child victims. The results were published in several professional journals and the methods have been adopted worldwide in the field of forensic interviewing. She has served on many local and national boards related to child abuse organizations and served as Past President of the Utah Chapter – APSAC. She thrives on Utah’s outdoor adventures in all seasons
