Learning Objectives
- Understand the prevalence and interconnectedness of eating disorders and co-occurring conditions, such as neurodivergence and substance use.

Bio
Sydney Williams, LCSW
Sydney has a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Utah. She worked at the Center For Change for 10 years where she was the Adult Residential Clinical Director and helped develop the program including groups, trainings, and was responsible for training all new therapists, supervising interns and associate level therapists.
In 2020, she began her group practice, Evergreen Therapy Collective, that are currently located in American Fork, Utah and Cache Valley, Utah. They specialize in eating disorders, women’s Issues, infertility, body image, anxiety, depression, LGBTQIA2SP+ community (especially eating disorders in LGBTQIA2SP+ population), ADHD/Autism, trauma using EMDR and IFS, and faith exploration.
She is currently waiting on approval for her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist credential (CEDS), with over 20,000 hours of eating disorder treatment experience and training.
She is passionate about mentoring and supervising, training and teaching new therapists, interns. She loves to teach and train therapists who have been practicing a long time about the in’s and out’s of eating disorder treatment.
Kathy Spencer, MHP, LCSW
Kathy is passionate about eating disorder recovery and has spent her academic career focusing on learning all she needs to know to be an expert in recovery. She has a Master’s degree in Social Work from Brigham Young University, a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from Brigham Young University, and a Master’s degree in Health Promotion from the University of Utah, emphasizing in eating disorder prevention. Furthermore, she has worked with clients with eating disorders in all levels of care, including inpatient, residential, and outpatient. For two years she was the Program Director over an adult residential eating disorder program. She has 10 years of management experience where she trained employees on working with eating disorder clients and verbal de-escalation.
In 2022 she started her private practice, Rose Mountain Counseling in Orem, Utah. She specializes in eating disorders/disordered eating, body image, women’s issues, anxiety, and trauma using EMDR and IFS. They also offer Nutrition Counseling with a registered dietitian who specializes in Eating Disorders, PCOS and diabetes.
